"Put hooks into thy jaws..."

Ezekiel 38

[1] And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

[2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

[3] And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

[4] And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

[5] Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

[6] Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

Ezekiel 39

[7] So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

This prophecy foretells of an attack by Russia and a large coalition of nations against the reformed and revitalized country of Israel. The Lord God, who causes all things, will force Gog (Russia) to go against Israel to show the world that God is with Israel. In 38:4, God says "I will turn thee back". Russia's attack on Ukraine did not go very well. Putin's army is not up to the task even though everyone thought it would be days and not months of fighting. To humiliate Russia and Putin, God has them lose or stalemate -"turn thee back".

Israel knows there can be no two state solution with the Palestinian people. The Jews that are returning to Israel from the world need places to live so settlements need to be expanded. Daily, Palestinians are attacking Israelis and even pay the family of those that die for killing Jews. Israel knows they cannot live with the Palestinians and will soon declare the two state solution void. This will anger the entire world. Russia and a coalition will gather to attack Israel. This act of independence by Israel will not sit well with the world's nations and Russia will want to overcome its Ukraine failure (maybe partly due to Israel helping Ukraine). Thus, God puts "hooks into thy jaws". Russia will not be able to help themselves.

Other prophecy explains the great tribulation of Christians. A world economic disaster or the collapse of the US dollar currency would be blamed on Christians and will lead to the worldwide killing of several million (or a billion) Christians. Jews around the world would want to flee to Israel. If the Christians are not available to protect them, they might as well leave. However, Russia uses this chance and their historical hatred of the Jewish people, to go down to Israel in force. The Jews that want to move to Israel have to wait as they will not want to be there if Russia is attacking. This is foretold in Revelations 7 with the holding of the four winds and the sealing of the 144,000 Jews.

Russia is defeated by a great earthquake. The great tribulation of Christians results in the opening of the sixth seal (Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken).

Recent bank failures could be the start of the world economic disaster.

Several countries are lessening their dependence on the US dollar and moving to the Chinese yuan.

Increased Palestinian violence against Israel may lead Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to announce the failure of the two state solution.

If God also has China attack Taiwan and North Korea attack South Korea when Russia starts to gather for attacking Israel, the US will be unable to deal, militarily, with all the world events.
