Personal Prepping Items

This article is not a prophecy post but just information on what our team has done to prepare for the upcoming troubles. There is no affiliation with any named product or associated company in the list.

Bluetti AC200P battery with solar panels - to be able to use some electrical items but nothing like a gas generator due to the probable lack of gasoline or propane required to run one. Several types and other manufacturers are available but this one fits our needs the best.

Sawyer Products MINI Water Filtration System - person water "straws" that filter 0.1 Micron and can be back-flushed as needed. Water purification tablets for up to 5 gallons per use. Several 5 gallon water storage containers - air tight and no light to allow over one year storage for potable water supply. Recommendations are for one gallon of potable water per person per day. Non-potable water can be used for cleaning non-food objects or flushing toilets. We also are considering getting pipes, well point and a manual well pump to be able to put in a shallow well.

A three to six month supply of coffee, canned goods, noodles, rice, canned meats, canned chili, seasonings for flavor and diversity, cereals, some emergency food (25 year shelf life), UHT milk, powdered and condensed milk. Except for the emergency food, everything we would normally use that has a one year or more shelf life. We are not depending on freezer foods due to lack of electricity and would use that first (the solar battery will run a freezer/refrigerator long enough to consume those items before loosing to spoilage).

Gather outdoor cooking options: bricks to build a rocket stove (find on YouTube); fire pit and tools; supply of wood; matches; camping fire starter kit; old style non-electric coffee percolator; hibachi grill.

For the indoors, a wood stove for heat and cooking; dutch ovens; coffee percolator (because one is not enough); tools for the fire and for ash removal.

Some extras to consider include a bicycle; lots and lots of candles; butane lighters; solar lights that can be charged during the day and used inside at night (led's are bright so we put ours under lamp shades).

Money and even precious metals will not be as good as having items to barter.
